About Dan

Dan Graham is a professor of Applied Social and Health Psychology at Colorado State University and the Colorado School of Public Health. His research on promoting healthy eating and physical activity earned the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Early Career Investigator award. Dan’s scientific papers have been published in more than 50 peer-reviewed journals and featured in media outlets including the BBC, NBC news, CBS news, Men’s Health, and many more.

He earned his PhD from the University of California, Irvine, and completed his undergraduate studies at Providence College. Before moving to Colorado, Dan was a Research Associate at the University of Minnesota and a visiting faculty member at Macalester College.

Dan has also been writing picture books for over a decade – first for his niece and nephew and then for his own kids, and now he is hoping to share his work with even more kids (and grown-ups!)

Dan has written other books on psychology-related topics (reducing prejudice, stereotypes, promoting well-received helping behaviors, and highlighting how individuals of all ability statuses have unique strengths) as well as books about dragons and dinosaurs and monsters. As soon as there are updates about publication timelines for these books, they will be posted here!
